Here's the Scoop on SBT's

SBT stands for Stud Book Tradition.  SBT is four or more generations from any out cross. There have been out crosses to other breeds of cats. Most recently the American Short hair has been used in order to bring in a new line of silvers. Whether breeding to another breed or to the ALC, the cat has to be on the fourth generation down from the out cross in order to be considered a SBT. At the SBT level, the cat is eligible for Championship Class along with the Persians, Siamese, etc.  The SBT Bengal will typically have somewhere between 8% and 12% Asian Leopard Cat blood.
